Problem Statement:
A woodworker needed some special French cleat holders for their tools. Normally all the French cleat holders would be made out of wood, but these were either not possible due to their small size or would take way to long to make. I worked with the client on customization for their needs
Design Thoughts:
Color coding would help with a quick scan of tools to quickly identify what was needed. The holders also needed to be able to rest on a table standalone to bring them to the work.
Solution:
As French cleats are set at a 45 degree angle, it was easy to make the “front” whatever the client needed and the back be the standard angle. The pictures say it all! For the drill bits, the inside even comes out so they are swappable.
